Klayte's 2nd Birthday

We planned a fun-filled day for Klayte this year. He got to help make cinnamon rolls in the morning. He loves to help me cook probably because it's one of the things that takes my attention away from him. We let him take a short nap and woke him up to go swimming at the recreation center. The weather has been so nice lately but it's windy so even though it was hot, the wind made swimming almost unbearable. Klayte warmed up a little but I think we'll wait for less wind next time. We planned on going to Olive Garden for dinner because Klayte loves noodles. We ended up going on Saturday because some friends invited us to have pizza and go to the drive in movie theater to see UP. We took our big bean bag in the back of the truck and almost lost it on the way home. We didn't think it would fly out since it's so heavy, but luckily Klayte saw the whole incident and let us know we needed to turn around. We are so lucky we live here where there's a median on almost every street and it didn't cause an accident. Klayte got spoiled as always. He's on a three year old level when it comes to solving puzzles and matching. Some of his gifts were centered on that interest. He got a tool set, alphabet magnets, alphabet animal puzzle, sock monkey, Curious George books and doll, WALL-E, shoes, balloons and tons of cards he likes to carry around. It was exciting to open presents because he finally unwrapped them himself and he thought it was funny to hear the ripping noises. This week Klayte has two-year-old check ups at the pediatrician and the dentist. He is definitely an average kid according to the pediatrician. He is getting a little taller in proportion to his weight. The poor thing got poked so many times at the blood lab; they couldn't find his vein plus he was trying to get away.
